stories about karma
regulars noted my pan of the amazon short film series several days ago --
well the good news is that the last three have been MUCH better. Do Geese See God and Careful What You Wish For are both great examples of GOOD storytelling and resonant stories.
And the whole series focuses on Karma, which, i'm increasingly seeing as a better-version-of-fate-than...well...fate. Even though I'm pretty ambivalent (read: skeptical) of the whole reincarnation dimension of Karma.
But this little comic by Ryan Estrada, (thanks Scott McCloud (of Understanding Comics fame, for the link) is another great story about....fate? irony? the "one that got away."

Hey,
This is Ryan Estrada, thanks a lot for the link. I think fate-wise, it wasn\'t too bad an experience. I mean, I\'ve head a great life, I\'ve met a lot of amazing people, and I don\'t know how my life would have changed if I\'d been a millionare at age 17. Plus, whenever I think back on it, I just remember the fun I had making a fake \"Z\" out of a leftover L and the family printer and setting up a hidden camera to catch my brother as he found it and danced a dance of joy.
isn't torturing little brothers a never-ending delight? I keep dangling my six year lead on life in front of my brother daniel (known on this site as "the moron")...
he comes up with some great discovery (his *Z* as it were) and I summarily dismiss it with an: oh yeah, I remember when I thought that way back when I was...how old are you now? 26? Man, I thought that was 24...?
No but I loved the comic anyway. Thanks for stopping by!
