The Countdown Begins
You know I'm a fan, right? That I embrace the fandom part of my selfhood. That I affirm the power, potency and goodness of popular culture as a site of learning, development and transformation.
Now take all of those statements and magnify them times ten and you have the level of my affection for Wes Anderson's Films.
Rushmore remains my favorite -- Max Fisher being a thinly veiled biopic about my life as a child.
The Royal Tannenbaums can have my number two slot in any top-anything list, because of the sweetness, complexity & authenticity is employs to tell the story of everyfamily.
I laugh (always) at Bottlerocket.
The best birthday present ever was the year that my wife constructed an elaborately executed Wes Anderson Party. The guestlist: Fans of Wes Anderson. The attire: Dress as your favorite character. Party Games: Re-enactments of classic W.A. scenes. Gifts: Only items that related to W.A. movies.
It was great.
And now:

Ha.
Collyn and I watched the trailer yesterday. It has such an obvious "Wes Andersonish" feel. Let's hope his having a bigger production budget doesn't ruin the film.

This is Scott Bell.
I enjoyed that trailer a bunch.
